It's hard to believe the season is already over. Qatar was just around the corner and we're already heading with new hopes into the off-season!
It has been like a dream up until Assen, with Jerez being the absolute high. Nevermind Bati lost to Hiro that particular time -- it was one of the most exciting races I've ever seen. After Assen it was all going down in lightening speed. What was going to be a-dream-come-true season turned into a total disaster in one moment. Crashes, mistakes, mechanical problems and Hairmonster constantly being up there, what probably annoyed most of us to no end.
All in all we have a worthy champion this year. Let's face that - he was fast and finished every race well in points. Consistency is the key and he was the most consistent rider up there. Job done. Well done, Hiro!
Created for racing demons on two wheels that gave us so much excitement over the years and without a doubt raised future world champions -- we will miss you! Whether Dorna killed the middle class racing we'll see in five months, but for sure it will never be the same again without these machines screaming every Sunday morning.
So, a bittersweet end of the season, really... I do look forward for the future, especially with all the top guys moving up to MotoGP next year. It's just 5 months to go, after all...
